It was great to see so many of you down at the Los Van Van concert at the weekend. What a great atmosphere although it did finish a lot earlier than many of us expected. Still, we can’t complain. We did see Cuba’s top band perform in London!
Kerry will also be teaching at the UK Cuban Salsa Festival at the end of this month down in Bournemouth where the highlight of the weekend will be another of Cuba’s top band, Manolito. You can’t miss that one either. We are definitely being spoiled for choice with Cuban music this year as rumour hits that Bamboleo will be coming to town - but we’ll keep you updated.
In the meantime, why not start planning for the holiday of a lifetime in Cuba, take a break from all this economic meltdown and join Key2Cuba in Havana. We’ll have a sample itinerary online shortly so keep checking back.
music salsaTomorrow night we hit the club scene in Camden to see Los Van Van in concert at the Roundhouse. Here to promote their latest album, Arrasando, this concert will be a sell out and an evening of Cuban heat and dance.

In addition to the wonderful Los Van Van appearing in London next weekend, (can’t wait!), another top Cuban band Manolito will be headlining the UK Cuban Salsa Festival in Bournemouth next month. Manolito have given us hits like the incredibly popular Locos por mi Habana and Marcando la Distancia and having seen them in both the UK on their last visit and on my last visit to Cuba (see below), I can only recommend seeing them. Enrique and Rob from Salsa Explosion are organising this weekender so it’s sure to be a top event! Tickets for the weekend are available now!

We have just had two very successful back to back trips to Cuba. Firstly, we were very lucky to have a least 17 different nationalities on our New Year trip and our lucky Valentines competition winner, Adrian Thomas, joined our our Middle Eastern based group this month. The Valentines group arrived back earlier this week, and we hope to receive an account from Adrian’s experiences in the next few weeks.
Now is your opportunity to make new friends and join like minded salseros for our Summer holidays. We have two great trips this summer, in August and September and it would be great to see you. We also have an exciting new itinerary which will be online shortly but for more information on the holidays, please check out our holiday page on the website.

We are in for a treat over the next few weeks with two great Cuban weekenders and 2 great Cuban performers in the UK. Firstly, we have Cuba’s most popular band, Los Van Van performing in London at the Roundhouse on Saturday 7 March. You cannot afford to miss this great band, here to promote their latest album, Arrasando.
Join Kerry and myself along with all the other Cuban fans at the Roundhouse. It would be great to see you there.
Many congratulations to our Valentines competition winner, Adrian Thomas from Uxbridge in Middlesex. Kerry telephoned him live from Pontins as the draw took place, and he was in complete and utter shock to have won but absolutely delighted. I’m sure that he’ll have a wonderful time in Cuba this February.
Many thanks to all of you who turned up to the Key2Cuba Christmas Party - it was great fun, a wonderful atmosphere and it was great to see so many of you dancing to Cuban music you don’t always hear.
Both Kerry and I would also like to thank everyone for their support over the past year and wish you all a Happy Christmas and a Happy Holiday Season. It would be great to meet you during 2009 at an in event in the UK or in Havana, so have a peaceful Christmas and let’s celebrate 2009!
Hola Salseros,This weekend sees the start of our Christmas celebrations with our Key2Cuba Christmas Party on Saturday night, 13 December, and Kerry’s workshop on Sunday afternoon, 14 December. Come down and join us for a Cuban fiesta at Garbo’s in London E9 with classes beginning at 7.30pm and partying through until 3am to the latest sounds from Havana. On Sunday, why not finish your weekend with Kerry’s workshop on refining your salsa technique in her workshop at Chisenhale Dance Space. Details are available on the website so come down and let’s party!
As we lead up to the holiday season, Key2Cuba are proud to present their Cuban Christmas party on Saturday 13 December at Garbo’s in London. With a wonderful Caribbean buffet, Havana Club cocktails plus the best in Cuban music, Saturday night will be rocking with the sounds from Havana. Why not make a weekend of it and go to Kerry’s workshop at Chisenhale on Sunday 14 December. Details are available on the website.
